On the windows login screen, at first the ethernet connection is now a Globe icon and with a little circle with a line across it, like this: I decided to try the update to version 2004, and the behaviour of the NIC has changed. ![]() This appears to be the driver downloaded from windows update automatically. For reference, the driver loaded for this device "Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection" is thus: To the Ethernet Adapter, in that after powering the machine ON from OFF state, or after a reboot, on the login screen, the little Ethernet icon in the bottom right immediately shows "connected", and the icon is one that looks like a monitor, attached here:Īfter logging in, I have ethernet connection straight away, and all is fine. Everything worked as expected with regards I was initially running Windows 10 Pro version 1909, on a custom built rig, with Gigabyte X79-UD3 (rev 1.0) motherboard, which has the onboard Intel 82579V Gigabit Network Connection, connected via wired ethernet. ![]()
